This is a commitment that I made from my previous post about the Good Samaritan. I decided to do something, made a commitment to myself, and sponsored a child. There are other ways that you can do but you MUST do something. Don’t be the Pharisees who know so much of the Word of God, theologies, and the Bible but they never do them.
Sponsoring a child is not easy as it requires your financial commitment every month. However, it is not that hard also. If you can spend for $2-4 for a coffee every morning, then you too can sponsor a child!
WriteForGod.com now has a logo and also a new theme installed (it’s called Vigilance) :)
The logo is not too catchy (I wish I can design a catchier logo). I used the Logo Creator to make it. At least it’s better than just a title text, in my opinion.
The leaves represents growth – As this blog grows, I wish that our spiritual life grows together too through this blog’s posts. The “plane” paper I guess represents the posts, aimed towards the Cross; meaning that all posts published here are for His Glory alone.
The Cross sits behind the leaves and the paper, meaning that without His support and strength, this blog is nothing but a rotten dead blog and a complete waste of time & energy.
Now, I need to make a re-commitment to post more on this blog :(
Carrie Prejean, also known as Miss California 2009, was asked by one of the judges, Perez Hilton, a question about her opinion on same sex marriages during the Miss America beauty pageant on 21st April 2009. She answered the biblical truth and was mocked as a result. But I’m glad that she answered based on her heart, her belief, and her God. Wish many christians can stand firm like her even when it costs them their friends and/or their jobs. Or in this case, a Miss America title.
The song titled “Healer” was invented by Pastor Michael Guglielmucci due to his battle against cancer. He testified that the doctor told him he had a cancer and only had 6 more months to live. He’s been living for 2 years now and he invented this song to proclaim his faith on God, our Healer.
He’s been exposed as a fraud and under professional help at the moment.
Although this is a sad news indeed for us, let us not judging him for his mistake or whatever reason why he did it. Pray for him and also for other Christians who may be feeling judgmental and down about this. Let us all focus on Jesus and the true meaning behind the song (which is biblical and very meaningful; please read Isaiah 53:2-6), and not focusing on a human being who can be sinful and weak.
This news won’t stop me listening to the song. How about you?
Interview with Michael on Today Tonight
I like a comment posted by stonemanjosh on YouTube:
“I would like someone to name a worship song for me that was not written by a sinner. David wrote the psalms and he was an adulterer too! Since when are we to good to forgive what God has already paid for?”
The Advertiser was told last night Mr Guglielmucci may release a statement on the situation. To read the news in detail, go to The Age newspaper here.
I haven’t touched this blog for a while now. I guess it’s not really easy maintaining more than 1 blog :) I can’t believe how other people do it. These couple of weeks have been quite busy as well for me. We are having an annual congregation meeting soon with new budget proposals and plans, so I’ve been in a few meetings here and there for the preparation.
Not to mention I’m in the process of migrating our church’s site from Postnuke to Joomla. I promise to take care of this blog more often after things are slowing down.
Note: 7 of my friends were baptized last week. I’m so excited to see how their lives have changed after they’ve received Christ as their savior :) It’s just the beginning and I’m sure God will work wonders upon them.
Thank you for all of my friends and readers on my personal blog that helped me in choosing this domain name.
As you may have guessed from the domain name, this blog is solely dedicated to Someone above :) This will be a Christianity blog, mostly to store christian resources such as our church’s sermon summary in English, cell group resources that I prepare every now and then, bible studies, articles, and some personal posts as well related to Christianity or my spiritual life.
